Suspension upgrade

Hi
I need some advice
Front end and rear end of my 1VJ have sagged considerably over the past 31 years.
Are there any recommendations on how to get that back to normal (or perhaps 25% stronger than original, as the original setup was pretty soft anyways)?
I am basically looking for recommendations for more heavy-duty fork springs, and a stronger spring for the rear monoshock.
Would XTZ660 parts do the trick? Anything interchangeable here? I may be able to get a parted out 660.
I also could get used 3AJ parts.
As for the rear monoshock, I would consider something with less travel as well (same original length, stronger spring, less travel)
Thanks for advice
Andy

There have been a lot of discussions on fork springs and monoshock upgrades on this forum over the years. Try the forum’s search tool and look up a few keywords for a lot of info.

On a personal note i have used the hyperpro rear spring replacement and broken two shocks due to the stock shock’s inability to dampen the spring rebound. Eventually i bought a YSS shock/spring combo and it feels great. For a front spring replacement i used progressive springs from Progressive Suspension and they do a fine job on big curbs and drops.
Wilburs also makes a fine aftermarket rear monoshock for the 1VJ/3AJ/43F as does Hagon, and i believe Ohlins once upon a time made an aftermarket shock for these bikes during their vintage. Not sure if Ohlins still makes them though.

Thanks,
the Hyperpro stuff is on my list. I have a rear White Power shock so I will check if they have a spring that fits it.
Unfortunately the Forum search is quite inaccurate. Short words like 1VJ are not accepted to lighten the server load, but if you do a search für tenere suspension there are hundreds of hits ...
Oh dear ... I hoped somebody had gone down that road before, especially concerning the use of XTZ660 parts

Another way (as i have mentioned many times) is to use Google by entering
site:www.tenere.co.uk and then whatever you are searching for, it allows you to search all images & topics on the site quickly.

I have reached this hurdle as well. I have just dished out on a new Wilber’s rear shock so that one is sorted. The front is a different issue. Has anyone replaced their setup with a complete adjustable cartridge. I have come accross this
https://www.omniaracing.net/en/andreani ... 82571.html.
Also my bike is a 88 3aj Tenere. What was the development changes for the front forks from the 3aj to the 3tb? Are they the same? The cartridge specs mention 1990 onwards. I will get clarification from the manufacturer but some guru knowledge would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Dino
