Ok then, here goes....

Some of you will remember this....

I originally bought this bike for the front end so I could have twin discs on Tenere 2, it was a steal at £50 for the whole bike, however it is a bit of a shitheap.... the engine is seized... and the plugs have been out for years while it stood in all sorts of shit weather

I've removed all the handlebar switches, the top yoke, calipers, front discs, wheel spindle & spacers & a few other bits & pieces & fitted em to Tenere 2

Wheel spindle..

Also the swinging arm is fucked...

I never intended to do this bike, however inspired by all the people who've told me it would be impossible to rebuild it & Just Dans superb resto on what was basically scrap metal.... I'm gonna have a go...

I know absolutely nothing about Super Tenere's, never owned one or worked on one... so be prepared for lots of daft questions...

Got to finish Tenere 2 & the 4MY first, but I'll be stripping this one & having a few bits powder coated between jobs on the others....

And anyway, its only cost me 50 quid so far....

This is the best way of going with no regrets on a rebuild, going to transform it into a Rally type?
You have allmost nothing to loose!(if it goes wrong)

The frame will be white, the rest I'll make up as I go along.... its gonna be a while.... spent about 3 hours stripping it this morning, didn't get very far, just about every bolt, nut & screw is seized on this bike, lots of bolts broken off in the frame... I've got to re-drill & tap lots of bolt holes before I can even get it powder coated...
I'm hoping to take all the stuff off this bike & Tenere 3 to the coaters in one go, the more stuff I take the cheaper it is.... :rtfi:

This will make a perfect example of a "Before and after"

Is that salt on there Geoff or just road dirt?

Errrr....Geoff, I suggest you contact JustDan for some counseling before you embark on this project.
We don't two of our members carted off to the funny farm.

I have been watching S10's on UK ebay and what look to be fairly presentable units have been going for 500-800 or thereabouts.
I would grab the best cheapie I could and use what you have as a donor. Then flog the remainder at project end.
A lot cheaper in the long run.

Prediction....This project will be harder than pushing shit uphill with a pointy stick.
Which reminds me of another old saying....You can't polish a turd!!
