Looking for any ideas on pannier frames for a 55W.
Are there any manufacturers out there that make a frame that would work for soft luggage??

I do believe the 3AJ ones will fit or at least be able to be made to fit . I don't have them so can't say what brand makes them or which works best unfortunately . We never got those bikes over here .

I think he`s talking pannier style for sort luggage, not the oem small rack.

And i don`t know of any manufacturer who makes them, most guys make their own.

Search ebay Germany for xt600 tenere Kofferträger Gepäckträger

Ya those side loops I'd assume . Wouldn't know if anybody makes them , have seen pictures of them on bikes but that's it . Maybe some for a XT660Z or one of the newer Teneree's and then modding to fit better ?????

Thanks Mezo,

I think I'll make a template and have one welded up.
I know I can get the loops from certain vendors to start.

Wonder if these will fit....

Gives options on both hard luggage and soft.

Boy they'd be close . The picture looks like a 4pt XT I think ? , but '84-'86XT600 would be the 55w time frame though frames di vary between models . I hope someone with a access to both bikes will chime in .

Make your own, I made some for my Australian made soft panniers, Im going to remake some because i feel they sit about 50mm to high.
The pannier manufacturer sells steel loops that can be made to suit any bike, but I just measured the ones he sells and made my own.

this picture is with the soft panniers on.
I found when loaded up they sat a bit high and I had trouble getting on/off the bike.

If you click (to enlarge) it goes to Photobucket & the dial of death again.

But thanks for trying.

Easy way is to email the pics.

This may suit your needs, a universal side kit that looks like it clips over your OEM rack. :shades:
