Gday how do you paint the oilcooler do you hit it with paint striper then etchprimer then paint what is the best way will paint stripper bugger the fins phil

Maybe low pressure soda blasting to get rid of old paint but care needs to be taken obviously .It would give a good surface for the paint to bite then . I'd want to get rid of as much old paint possible to keep heat transfer as good as possible rather than several layers . Some mild chemical strippers should work , just don't let them sit and then wash off thoroughly .

Hey Phill, I have always used paint stripper , it gets just about all the paint off. Then etch primer and paint. Spend a bit of time with a small flat screw diver to straighten the fins.
