Scottie hits the road

I was riding home from work on a wet night around 9:30pm after the rain had stopped and as I approached an intersection a car in the oncoming lane didn't see that I was a motorcycle and turned left out in front of me. Traveling at about 25 km/h I hit the front brake hard like a dummy and the wheel slid out sending me flying over the bars and popping my collarbone and rashing up my shoulder and back on the way down. I got up and felt the collarbone was broken while a crowd of onlookers did very little to help. With my one good arm I got it back up on two wheels and removed my camera bag from the back rack and the tripod on the side rack that took the brunt of the fall. The driver who cut me off had stopped and came over to see what was going on and I begged a ride from him to a medical clinic so that I could get x-rays and have my rashes cleaned up. My girlfriend had just left town with a friend to vacation in the desert and were 5 hours away when I crashed but they turned around anyways.
The damage done was 1.) broken collarbone 2.) sprained ankle 3.) roughened up tripod 4.) slight gash to swingarm 5.) broken footpeg mount

X-rays $750
Welding $60
Now 3 weeks later the collarbone is mostly healed up and range of motion is back to normal. Still some soreness in the mornings but not much. Since I did not actually run into the car that cut me off there's no incident to claim from the police or insurance so I gotta eat the costs and get better. Next time I'll lay it down and wedge the bike up under the car.
