I've sourced a body kit from Australia, and managed to make the swing arm look presentable.
But starting on the refurb of the engine has highlighted that I really need a 34L top end.
If anyone out there has a good cylinder head and matching top cover I'd be very interested, even a complete engine if you have one.....

who ever rebuilt it was over fond of red instant gasket, it had found its way into the cam oil ways and basically plugged them.
Plenty of scoring in the cam journals, one cam lobe flat and one rocker flat

thanks, I'd seen that and made several offers, the largest was £100 which I thought was plenty, all of which were declined. If it would have been a complete top end with cylinder I'd have paid it.
I bought the whole bike for £300.
What do you think would have been reasonable for a cylinder head and cover?

£100 was fair.

I found a head (for later XT600) for 80€ that I think was cheap.
Don´t know if the older heads are less common?

Watch out!! The spacing on the head bolts changed in 1988/89.
If you want to use late type of head, you have to use late cylinder.

The TX600 2KF/2NF 1987-> seem to have the newer head bold spacing as well, have a 2FK head on my 3AJ
