Hi guys,
I have a new fully loaded battery on this bike. Been out driving some with it without issues.
Third time starting the bike it sounded sqeeuuch from the starter when I pushed the startbutton.
First I recognized was that the battery was empty???

I have to other reg/rect laying around which I don´t know if they work.
When I try one of them and measuring volts on the battery pools revving the bike,
it shows 14 then 15 then 16 then 17 volts and counting very fast and then I stopped the engine.
Next reg/rect is the opposite, showing smaller and smaller volts values when revving the bike.
Is it like I guess, all of the reg/rect I got is toast?
Or is the issue with the stator?
I´m stuck here. Anyone know what direction to take?

Googled some but not finding the exactly same issue as I have.
The volt test with the reg/rect where the volts numbers increased should mean that the stator is ok
what I can understand. It gives higher voltage readings which means it is doing it´s job, producing Power.
A post I found said that measuring the volts output on the battery with broken regulators could show both
the symptoms I have. I got a Little confused there. Will be looking for a new reg/rect on Monday.

Try running a 12ga. ground wire from the battery to the reg/rect housing itself and make sure it is making good contact with the housing. They need to be grounded good. I run the said wire also to a good frame point and then the motor so all are solidly connected. Possible yours isn't making good ground from corrosion or bad wire.

Did not think of checking grounding points before. Now with the broken
reg/rect I have very good volt readings, even on the reg/rect shell. It´s actually
the same reading as on the battery pools. All other grounding Points on the bike is ok to.
I´m more concerned what caused this issue but I have to try with a "new" one.
Cant see what more can be done at this moment.
I have cleaned all connections. Went to scrapyard and bought this Honda reg/rect.
The 3 yellow is the same as our whites. The 2 red is our 1 red and the 2 blacks is
the ground. Hondas don´t need to be grounded in the frame as ours as it´s grounded
in itself. Just to connect it to our black cable that goes back to our reg/rect.
I´m in the process to make the connections now.

The "new" regulator seemes to be working fine. The charging when revving is around steady 14 volts.
Maybe it was the ground Connection that was bad and made the old regulator go to hot and brake. Future will tell.
