I've yet to fit a HID kit Phil,but I also saw that kit,it's on this winters to-do list along with a trail-tech dash & a 34L tank & seat so if you fit one soon could you let us know how you get on?

Not fitted the kit as i don't do any night time riding (fair weather bloke me) but speaking from an Electricians point of view & knowing how discharge lighting works, id say that was a quality bit of kit from the pics i can see (nice thick wiring & decent connections)

I have researched this subject when they first came out & some of the cheaper kits looked like junk, these kits id buy myself going by the pics.

Will be back in the UK in August from Saudi, so I will fit it then and let you know how it performs. Looks promising tho'.

these are very commen in Holland and not too expensive a set for a single light would set you back about €50.-
double about €10 - 15 more..

Id definately have a set in my headlight once it gets that far..
more light, more vision (on dark roads)

I would have preferred to have a set of projector lenses on my bike, but these wont fit (any?) single round (5 - 6 inch) headlight.

it needs about 10cm behind the H4/ H7 H-whatever to fit a lamp, = about 3inch.
Ive been looking to get a fitting set, but.. doubt it'll fit..

BUT..
it would look great..
bit light dispearsion (??) is bad unless the front of the lamp is clear..

looks like good stuff, all quality kits, would look good in the 3AJ
i think it would be worth the effort

I've put an HID kit on my 3AJ. I got the kit from Advanced German Technology (http://www.motorcyclehidlights.com/buel ... -kit-p-195). I had to modify the wiring by cutting off their stock H4 connectors and crimping on the Italian market 3AJ wiring harness. They have a high and low setting - high is the HID setting and low is a tungsten halogen output. So far the results have been mixed for me. When I am on the highway they are great. Nice constant output of a very bright light. They work great to illuminate anything that reflects light. But when I am driving through neighborhoods or on twisty roads they become intermittent and will flash off and on. I usually drive with the low beam tungsten setting because of this. I'm not sure if this is being caused by a wiring short or if the alternator is not supplying enough power to keep them on all the time, or if it's because when I put the harness back together I switched the high and low beam settings so that the low beam switch is the HID setting and high beam switch is tungsten halogen. I have a charging meter on the dash and when both HID lights are on they draw enough power to put the meters in the red, meaning the battery is not charging I assume. Likewise for the low beam tungsten setting. When both lights are on they draw a lot of power. I can even notice this effect after a lot of riding with both lights on. When I shut off the bike and go to start it again, the starter motor is a little weak turning over.

That being said, I still like them. I have a kickstarter, so screw the battery They are super bright and make me very visible to oncoming traffic. I got the 4300K version.
