Hi Mezo, the same friend has blown the head gasket on his 1VJ and he wanted to know if you have to pull out the motor to fit a new gasket or not. Apparently some models are easier than others to do this?

You can tilt the motor forward in the frame, pipes off, all engine mounts/bolts except the one that goes through the swing arm.
Obviously the carb (after you can disconnected pipes & cables) and it just allows enough room to do the job.
Watch or look for the one hidden bolt that everyone misses on the rocker (its right deep in the middle) i think its 12 bolts from memory?
Don`t be tempted to start bashing with the old rubber mallet if it seems stuck.
Mezo.
