Hi, all Gurus!
The original fuelpump on my XT600 Tenere isn't any good, if I run out of gas from the main tank, the pump does'nt manage to pick up gas from reservetank just by running startmotor.
I did buy a electrical fuelpump intended for a carburettor engine, but how can I connect it so it stops when engine stalls? For instance in case of a crash and the gnition is left in ON position?
Is it possible to connect via a relay to somewhere on the regulator / rectyfier?

Seems to make sense that you could hook it up to a split of the output of the reg/rect before it gets to the battery. Or would that divert too much energy from the charging system to properly charge the battery?

I removed my vacuum fuel pump completely from my 3AJ. Was never happy with its performance.

Just buy another vacum pump, search "fuel pump" top right of screen, lots of info.

A lot of injected bikes use a "Tilt or Tip Over switch" to cut power to the pump in the event of the bike falling over (accident)

This is just a Kawasaki sample, but there are others around.

Fuel injection pumps run at a much higher pressure and are a fair draw on the electrics.I would go with Mezos suggestion and learn to be nifty at changing to reserve whilst on the move before the engine stops.

This wasn't a suggestion to run a fuel injection style pump, just a switch to turn off the pump he already has in event of an accident, as this was his original question.

Use a relay wired to your battery & alternator, or as Mezo said just get another vacuum pump.
Or fill up more :-)
