Hello, I just wondering if there's an alternative tank that would fit a 34L, it looks like the first part that's gonna take a whack when I drop it, so if I fancy a little off roading I'm thinking drop it on a surrogate tank, just till I get some skills dialled in.
Also an excuse to keep me eyes peeled on ebay for a cheap piece of crap....which leads me to show you this, an old tank I took a fancy to, just to hang up in the workshop as décor, £12 delivered.....no it won't fit, just wondering what cool thing to do with it? drill some holes? hang some tools? stick it on a bike? Actually prob look cool as it is on the right bike.

I've got an angle grinder andy...ha ha....I'm healing up quite quick but today my eyes felt like I've been sticking my head out of window one of them high speed bulle trains..

I would think most of the standard XT tanks would fit, if you have any of the smaller ones. There are quite a few dented up ones over here that you wouldn't notice another dent. I have one that if you'd cover shipping it's yours, but paying someone to swim over to the UK might get too pricey. It's up to you.
Honda XR's would come damn close to fitting.

Afraid not, diffrent mounting points for the tank, seat, side panels & rear cargo rack.

I'm kind of assuming he's willing to make some small bits and mounts on the tanks to make them fit good enough, maybe. Just thinking they would fit one the two front knobs and over the backbone, then the rear to be determined. maybe not. I probably shouldn't be thinking on Friday night.

Just seen there's a pay and play day near bagshot on 17th November andy?...if you can escape the island on day release could be a good day out..or anyone else that got a dirtbike of some description in southeast..

Appologies for the late response, the misses insisted on a holiday, well I'm back now, less money in the bank and mozzie bites all over.
Thanks for the offer marc, but I really need to look stupid and embarrassed on my own, nothing worse than a grey haired bloke going too fast completely out of control. though I might turn up just to potter around on, then probably go too fast, I'll give it some thought.
As far as tank goes, I think I'll keep an eye out for a crappy 34L.
