REAR BRAKE SETUP

G'day All,

Looking[drooling]at various photos of early 80's Tenere's some riders have the rear brake up facing up, some facing down. Anyone know why that is, and what is best? Is it just to avoid trail damage by facing it up?

Hmmm. When I saved the RD from the wreckers it too had a rear drum with actuated by a rod linkage, and depending how it was adjusted had a big impact on the brakes sensitivity, with the brake arm parallel to the rod facing forward or back. Curiouser and curiouser...................

Its the same cam operating no matter which way you pull it, bit like your cock.

Shit, I can't even tell if my rear brake works At least there is less to go wrong than with the front disc

I have put my rear break facing up.Of course it prevents breaking that aluminum part that way.
BUT you need to bent that rod a bit in order to avoid to hit the foot peg holder when suspension is down.
