Re: XT600E 1991 Ex Aust Army Project
Operation Pull your finger out and finish 1 project
i've decided the army bike will be the easiest to finish as all the parts are there so i finally split the cases

then remove the gears

checked them thoroughly and found only 2 teeth on 1 cog with damage

5th gear as usual, will order new cog tonight, hope to get the crank into the shop to have the new conrod fitted this week, went to use my degreasing tub and the pump has crapped out
so i'll need a new pump or tub

Re: XT600E 1991 Ex Aust Army Project

So loooong story on the ex army bike, I had stored engine parts in plastic storage boxes, brand new 5th gear, cams, ect ect anyway the shed leaked and filled up the box with water, the whole lot sat in water then slowly evaporated over a long dry summer ruining everything, so when I went back to restart the project I was pissed , salvaged what I could and just didn't want to look at it so stored it away, anyway I was given a 2001 xt600 that was almost written off, so I took a chance and fitted the motor as is and bugger me it's sweet, so hopefully get a roadworthy for the bike this week and it will be finished after 10 years I believe
