Hello,

I'm having hard time bleeding the front brakes. I think, I've spent 5 hours last 3 days and cannot bleed those f... brakes

I pump the brake fluid with the master cylinder. It goes out down at brakes without air bubbles. I tried pushing the brake fluid from downwards with a syringe - the fluid goes out at the master cylinder.
I left the brake lever pushed in for two nights for any air bubbles to evacuate and still nothing.

I can feel it brakes but not enough. When the brake lever is pushed in I can move the front wheel with my hand.

I'm short of ideas ... If anyone has a tip or trick to do, don't hesitate.

Make sure the brake lever is not contacting anything that prevents full travel of the piston. Is the master cylinder the correct size for the new front end?

thanks Eric, I checked the length of the lever travel - everything OK there. The master cylinder has the correct size - I've bought it as a set together with the brakes.

I talked to a guy from a local motorcycle workshop. He advised me to try to install the rebuild kit for the master cylinder. He thinks the pump in the master cylinder may be used. As I don't have another option, I'll try that.

I think Eric means look at the piston where it contacts the lever.
Sometimes the piston hits the switch cluster, preventing it from returning properly (move the brake lever bracket away from the throttle or twist the throttle assembly or brake lever to give more clearance)

just to update on my brake bleeding problem : I tried everything 2 moths ago with no success. I left the bike for 2 months, I tried the brakes yesterday and everything worked well - I have very sharp brakes now
I've read that one needed a lot of patience and needed to let the nature do its work : the air bubbles would go up to the master cylinder with time. I suppose there are other, time effective methods, but at least my brakes are working.

I did some test rides today and the bike is feeling really well with the front from XTZ 750. And I am more confident when it comes down to breaking

Make sure you have no high points in your brake line after it leaves the master cylinder. Air rises to the highest point and can get trapped and hard to displace.

some recent news : 2 years ago I've got an old exhaust manifold. I've thought about nickel plating it. I gave it to a guy that zinc plated all the nuts and bolts during my restoration and he told me that he would give it a try with nickel plating. After 1 year and a half he called me back that my exhaust manifold was ready. Given the low price of his services I didn't complain on the delays. Below is the result :







I have no idea how it will work in high temperature, with water splashing on it...

It's a bit late but the best way to bleed the brakes is to arm yourself with a large syringe and pump the fluid in from the bleed nipple on the caliper... works a treat & takes minutes rather than hours...
