So I finally decided to pull Tenere 1 apart to try & find the cause of the engine knock..... before I start another bike.




I was expecting the main bearings or the big end bearings to be shot.... mains are ok, but the big end bearing is knackered.... no play or lift in it, but it's very noisy when I rotate the crank.... unusual for one of these.... was it starved of oil..??



Luckily .... after searching around amongst all my crap... I've come across a nice 3TB crank which I'll drop in.... that'll save a few quid..

Hi Steve, my bikes are spread about between work and home at the moment... I'll let you know when they're all back at home...

The weather has warmed up enough to continue bringing Tenere 1 back to its former glory....
