They don´t sell this as a kit for the 34L.I did the same got one set with all parts(rubber and carton) replaced them but kept the original needle.Or you just buy all parts OEM.

When I went through mine I got most of the parts through an oem online store. Mine had the same needle as yours, but it was the bowl drain screw that kept leaking on mine.

Yeap, I think your right karl. I have found this for 83 - 87 XT, not a full kit, I think I'm chasing my tail a bit, I'll check OEM before I buy.

I've got a problem....
My headlight cowl 17F 28351 00 36 and my light frame 2JX 23174 00 (not photo 2) don't seam to want to marry up with my bike. the superseded frame has a jutting out piece that clashes with me forks (held by hand in roughly correct position), it looks like a bracket for indicator relay, easily bent or cut off, but before I do and make it un-returnable, has anyone got some pic's or microfiche of the breakdown of bracket for this location? I have a steering parts picture but it don't show all parts, cowl, frame, etc.

Thanks Geoff, thought so, you'd thought a superseded part would fit.

I think I'll check ebay for the 34L part.

I have found this on ebay but the seller can't do better than XT600, anyone recognise it? is it 34L?

Just looked at my XT and it is identical to yours. Given the rest of the bike seems to be 34L I'd say that's what it is.
The tap sticking up from the bottom is the light adjustment.
