The low comperssion is a thing to deal whit, but the main reason for this heavy oil smoke has to be the leak from the oil channal, the amount of oil on top of the piston can´t just come from low compression. Also explains why the heavy oil smoke started same time as oil pressuer got to the top end. But yes, its a seal thing, the low compression is the costy thing. I have both my cylinder to work today as in same house there is a shop that has tools to messur the cylinders. I also borrowed home the compression tester from them. Hope to get them messured today if there is any hope for just a hone, or bore and new piston is whats needed. The piston I messured, was well inside tolerance, 94.950 mm I recall it was.

I think these I found are just the T.K.R.J only the add has the J missing in the add, but is on the box in the pic. Seller has only one left, but don´t know if its STD, 95,50 or 96,00....I have sent him e-mail.........

I got confirmed the TKR piston the shop had was a 95,50mm one so did order it. Finally feels like my luck is changeing, as out of 4 pistons the shop have had, in 3 different size, they had one left and in correct size!
And this is also the chepest option I have found! Good enough for Mezo, good enough for me!

You may be right about the oil passageway leaking into the cylinder. Usually if this seal fails, you have oil on the outside of the cylinder as well, quite messy. Good luck, please let us know how this turns out as others can learn from your difficulty.

I think I found why the seal between cylinder as head was leaking. The cylinder to engine case has a seal alike, but seem they have a tiny length difference, and I did put them the wrong way around as I did not notice it...also there is a tiny little mark in the head just on piston side of the oil channal. So I might been rideing a low compression Tenere if I had put the seals the right way....

The 2 seals between the head and barrel & barrel & cases are the same, there should be no difference in length.... same as the dowels....

That was I also noticed whit the new Athena seal kit I did buy, both same length, but as the longer one from the Poland seal kit.......

Anyway, yesterday evening I did fire it up, smokeless for a while, then some minior that faded away after some time, had to be oil in the muffler that was burning. So all sorted an in place I did check all lights, and brake light was not working from the front brake, had the switch off, not the problem there. So this morning I had the tank off, and foult was corrotion in the plug of the wire to the switch. So midday today it did hapen, first ride. Was not truble free, as a km after left off I noticed the front brake was dragging, a km later I had to stop as front brake was on so much the wheel locked.... Problem was from me having the brake level off to get the switch for the brake light out. Seem the bolt for the brake level is uneven worn or not straight, and as it was some different located compare to when I had adjusted the level to piston adjustment, whit a to tight adjustment the pressure did not return properly and as brake heated up, as fluid when.... But that was fixed after a walk for a tool, the the short but good ride did continue. Did 32kms in total, bike did surprise me whit how fast the steering was as how stabile it is on twisty tarmac roads! And well after all its together now what same cylinder as before but new piston rings, the new piston will be for the Tenere #2

Later today I did add a top box for more ease to carry some stuff whit me

And a thing I still have to get is a new Chain / Sprocket kit, the chain is not that good, but did not get a new yet, but now that I know its (bike) working OK, I will!
