They're bring my damper back.

They have a new DR650...
It's so new, it took them several days to clock up enough distance for the 1,000km checkup.

They are trying for the complete set.

Well the mini Ten is still going well. Apart from 2 minor issues.
1. The cheap chain seems like it uses cement paste instead of grease and is still stiff after several thousand km's. Must be sucking at least 3-4hp from the 350 powerhouse,
2. An MT43 trials rear with 108 link chain and 14/50 sprockets, touches the plastic shock protector under compression and tears the centre knobs. It's also higher geared than the Shinko 705 120/80/18 running 15/50.

I've got 300hrs on it now. Nearly run in.

Well i experimented with a stuffed DR chain couple of years ago (o-ring) it had gone all tight, so i read & everyone saying you can give it a hot oil bath cos it stuffs the o-rings, i thought well there stuffed already so no harm in trying.

The bath did its job, although it took twice as long even longer than a no o-ring chain, and id guess that's because the o-rings were stopping the oil getting inside, but eventually it did & the chain came out like new again.

I was also under the impression that it wouldn't work on o-ring chains. I'll give it a shot on one of the old chains in the shop and see what happends, thanks for the tip.

By the way, how much does these "minibikes" weight?

The MT43 trials rear is now on with a DID 520V 110link chain and 14/53 sprockets.
Too low for day to day use, but should be sweet for in the hills.
Now to see how 16/52 goes on the roady wheel set.

Got one of those Torpedo7 tyre changing thingys and of course the centre post is bigger than the TT's front axle size...

Otherwise it works quite well.

Pulled the shock out on Sat with the intention of putting on the resovoir off an XR350 with adjustable compression damping.
Of course the original hydro line is now too short and the replacement line needs another banjo bolt and the banjo bolts are 10x1mm thread, not the normal 10x1.25mm.
Good luck finding one of them on a weekend...

The bump stop has disintegrated too.
Filled the shock with 5w and put the original resovoir back on. For Sundays ride.
Wow. Damping.

On Monday, I found the right banjo bolt ($14) and got the XR canister on there.
Of course, after all this effort, I can't tell any difference between no compression and full compression damping...
On the bright side, I've now got a resovoir with a normal valve that I can play with pressures before I get it nitrogen'd up.
The bump stop will get replaced some other time.

Also the lowest gearing you can run on the TT350 with an MT43 trials rear, is 52/14 with 110 links. 53/14 just rubs on the swing arm and chews the tops of the knobs off. Even though there is 5mm static clearance.

But by fuck do trials tyres stick like shit to a blanket!
