Looking fantastic!
You have an K&N filter? They are not so good.Try to get the double foam original airfilter.
Make a video of the first start attempt..... slywink:

Big thing today was to get me a silencer. Cut 2 apart to get best parts.

Image

There were things inside loose, scrambling.

Image

Sandblasted it and things revealed itself. Lots of craks and small holes.
Walls thick as paper in some spots.

Image

Image

Finished. Took a while get there.

Image

New fuel hoses and a fuelfilter.

Image

This side almost done.

Image

Next up, chain, frontbrake, horn, engine oil, fuel and then the first test to start.

The black frontend looks very good together with the rest of the bike! :thumb:

I like the round frontlight. Will be interessting if it is brighter than the original.
I would like a very small round headlight on my 34L.
That would make it look lot more bulky.

Thanks Olli. smile:
I took what I had laying around. Think the headlight is from a RD350. Don´t know If I like it yet.

Back to todays adventure.

Chain is mounted.

Image

Frontbrake is working.

Image

Rolling her out I heard a klicking sound from the front wheelhub.
I have no idea what´s hitting what in there. Something wrong it is.

Filled her up with 2 litre engine oil. Put some petrol in the tank and kicked once.
Crash boom bang, kicker was hitting something, the brake pedal.

I found out this, can you see the difference?

43F/34L frame.

Image

2KF frame.

Image

Yes, I was wondering before what function that had. It stops the pedal from getting to high.
Shit, I gotta weld in the frame.

However, holding that pedal away from the kicker and she started. :star:
No leaks of oil or fuel.
You can see the smoke coming from the exhaust system, colour hardening from the heat.
Put 1st gear in, rolling, klick, klick, klick from the frontwheel. And.....something feels strange in the rear wheel to.

Image

Well, her she is. Not there yet. But a big step is taken today. I have to sort out the issues.

Ok, I have sorted out frontbrake issue, with the clicks.
It was one of the clip holding the brake pad on place that was a bit twisted.

Brake pedal issue, no welding in the frame is necessary. smile:
I made this instead.

Image

Located here. It wont be any swinger issues with it.

Image

On one of my wrecks, I found this heat protection.

Image

I got it off in one piece and will glue it on the present build.

Image

It is a bit empty in here after all parts is mounted on the bike (almost all parts).

Image

Still things to do and some to sort out.
Back wheel issue, might be chain slack issue. I think I have 25-30 mm now.
But we´ll see tomorrow.

I have the horn to mount as well in the nasty nest behind the headlight.
And then we should be ready.
