We tried it both ways and got a much better fit the way we fitted them. My signwriter mate was more concerned in keeping the gaps between the blocks and stripes at 11mm, and by doing it the way we did it, it looked better. The gap on that leading corner edge was hard to get parallel. If it looks right, it is right.
right or wrong, I think it looks OK. This bike is being built for a purpose and was never intended to be a concours winner. I'm sure the tank won't look this good upon its return to Oz.
Hey Paul, when you fitted the later motor did you measure the front sprocket offset compared to the old motor as I hear they are different by 1/4 inch and would make the chain wear quick and possibly come off.
