Once I'd picked the height and top width then it was a matter of doing the 2nd set of triangles to get the angle correct and the outside bits to go flush with the existing bits.
It rides well too. No shaking, gets pressed back slightly into the GPS and the wind hits about top of shoulders.
About as effective as my Givi on the DR for quite a bit more $$.
The Givi was free, this one cost me a $24 rubbish bin. Took the template up town and searched until I found a bin with the right colour and shape.
Not sure how a coloured screen would go as they'd whiten up on the creases.
I used to put a heat gun over white creases, even a hair dryer or hot water will lessen the whiteness.
Might not get rid of it completely but will reduce it.
Any coloured plastics with white crease marks can be improved with a bit of heat.

Now I've got a 7.2v NiCd replacing the 6v lead acid that kept going dry.
Also gives the blinkers, brake light and horn a boost.
Dash lights...
For the front end, some re-valved Intiminators from a Triumph twin road bike.
The front end is quite nice now. Nice and stable on the road and supple off.
Not going to bother with the YZF USD front end now.
Of course the front end now makes the back feel even worse...
The rear shock goes from no damping to locked in about 4 clicks, which I take to mean there's no oil left...
In full adventure guise.

Was going to stick an XR350 shock gas resovoir with adjustable compression damping on the TT today.
The lower shock bolt has got a non standard nut on it.
One of those ones that's
almost the right thread pitch. Or used to be when it still had thread. Before it stuffed up the bolt too...

Dunno why they just didn't use the bolt & split pin method like on the 600`s

More earthquakes in ChCh...
Record rainfall in Nelson causing widespread damage from mud slides, 100 odd totalled houses, parts of Golden Bay will be without roads for months...
Sweet here though. I was riding in the rain all day whilst all this was happening...
670 odd mm of rain in 48hrs. Not heavy, just constant. No letup. Soil saturation...

Flattened off both sides of the bolt end, drilled a hole, made an alloy spacer (on the mini-lathe
), made it fit snugly over the bolt flats, and kept filing a groove until I could
just fit the split pin in. Lots of Yamalube and we'll see how it goes.

TradeMe. $62...
James & Allie are up in Aucks at the moment, on a 350 and the new DR650. Yes! New!
So they're bringing it back for me.
Oh and they broke the shift lever on the 350...

What do you mean "the new DR" a new DR or is there a new model out? and when you say for me, its your new bike?
