I think your liner sleeve has already been removed. There should always be 60mm or so (iron or aluminium) projecting into the cankcase to support the piston.

Yes, nothing I can do myself so it smells expensive with all the work that has to be done. Try to sell it then.

Does the engine fit in a 36A frame you think?

I got an offer earlier today I probably can´t refuse anyway.
Spare engine, seat, harness, cans, airhousing and so on.
Oh, and a brand new spare stator.

Well I'll be, I knew the TT's are coated and thus far all the other bikes I've dealt with that coating meant no liner, they had to be bored out to put a liner in then, Guess Yamaha went a different route. That at least means it's easy to convert them to cast iron then without the extra costs, cool .

The 660's we have over here are quite different in the mounting so they don't fit in the older frames without a bunch of fab work and parts making. Since we don't have the 2 wheeled version I can't say for sure if they are mounted the same way. Not any room for the radiator either unless you do as I did and put an air cooled topend on it, then disconnect the water pump and cap it. I wouldn't be able to chop up a bike in that good of shape anyways, can you ship it overseas for me please instead ????

As I said Before. This Project(s) could turn pretty fast.
I have no problem chopping up a 2005 bike. Selling some of it will help costs stay down.
I have trouble finding a 3TB donor bike at a reasonable price.

I like the thought having one original TT and one a bit more Tenerised with a modern Engine and the old look.
Only thing thats negative here is that you can´t insert a kicker in those 660´s. Investigated that before for my Z.

I believe that the water cooler position isn´t an issue if I go for the XTZ750 front fender. But I can have wrong not
being able to measure or check it out in any way. New engine mounts shouldn´t be a issue either.

Some new info in the pursuit to find bikes.
Finding the owner itself is always a good way to get the proper info. It wasn´t really that good deal as my intel said earlier.
New engine has only gone 15000 km´s. Spare wasn´t spare in that remark though it has a broken gearbox and is in pieces.
Windshield and plastic cover for the headlamp is missing. Last thing not any problem when chopping up to sell but "spare" engine
is. I had hoped to get some cash for a fully working engine rather fast. I don´t have a money machine yet.

There are to many things right now making me loose focus.

Oh yes, I almost forgot.
TT engines on #1 is 36A and on #2 it´s a 59X.
Both engines cylinders and the cylinder I purchased the other day are all three 34K.

Those heads have a smaller chamber than the newer ones, aka: more compression, aka: more oomph.

The prefix 34k is were it all started 600- wise.
Seach old tt parts by this prefix. Some 34k parts made
Into other later bikes. For example the inlet rubbers (inlet manifolds) for the
Tenere 34l are coming from the TT. ( or vice versa. I think tenere and tt
Were invented on the market at the same date).
