I have to admit I have a hidden agenda around my projects.
Started out this project as a double TT600 project. Needed many parts so an
idea was to buy some cheap spare part bikes. Doing like that, the costs
was starting to get high. So I started to think of the economy as a preproject.
Could I decrease the costs by fixing/chopping and selling? Very early I included
another 2 project bikes into the economy project, 2 XT600Z from -83.
When I checked last year there was only 25 34L registered in the country and
now I got 2 of them.
When starting this eco-project I was aiming at zero costs for the purchasing of the bikes.
Seemes this soon is a reality so I am thinking of expanding the eco-project to
include spareparts I bought along the way from EBay and others. Maybe expand it
in another step to include the renovation costs. However, I have a nice grip of
all the costs today.
When I present the numbers I am doing this in Euros. The swedish currency SEK (Crown)
is rounded up to closest euro which is 1 Euro = 10 SEK for simplicity in counting.
I have bought 14 bikes for 7070 Euros in total right now.
Selling bikes and spareparts gives my total purchase cost is only 441 Euros at
the moment and counting down. I have 5 bikes left, 4 project bikes and 1 2KF to be sold
when repaired. I still miss some parts for one of the XT600Z and my customized TT600.
The negative side having an eco-project like this is there is almost nothing
going on with the 4 project bikes, except collecting parts.
