Can anyone who's been before give me an idea of when they usually expect the bikes to be dropped off for transportation to Morocco? And whereabouts the drop-off point is?

Hi All!

I am another newbie to SR and have entered for Morocco 2025. I am building a 1994 F650ST funduro for the event, but at least my front-end is Yamaha.... YZF fork, front wheel and caliper.

This is a great tread with excellent posts on experiences on SR.

Will love to get more info from those who have gone before. The bike still needs some work, less than 4 months to dropping it off in London....

Bikes will need to be dropped off five to six weeks before the start. Usually in Gloucester

Hi all.

A friend and I have registered for Sandrainders Morocco 2025, just here to say "hi".

I won't be on my Tenere as it's the current T7. I'll be turning up on a DR-Z400, assuming my rebuild goes according to plan.

As a first-timer, I might pick the brains of those of you that have been before regarding what (and what not) to pack.

I'm still waiting for my 3AJ to be returned to Edinburgh so I can start prepping it for Morocco in April.

It developed an oil leak on the last day, so I'll be investigating that, as well as trying to sort my suspension out in time for dropping off at WMB, Gloucester towards the end of March 2025. https://maps.app.goo.gl/rZPGe4nQkn2KuPvq8

Turns out, the advice I'd been given (re sag etc) was for roadbikes. No wonders I struggled on the 100's of kilometers of babyheads south of Agadir. Tunisa was also harder work than it should have been.

Dave Lambeth and Saul from Plushcraft have been a big help, but if anyone here has good advice on how they set their Tenere's suspension. please let me know.

This is something I've always wanted to do / try and I do have an background in trials, Twinshock MX and some enduro's.
I'm preparing the bike now and starting to think a bit more about my fitness (could be fitter) and after the reading this thread I think I need to put a bit more emphasis on the fitness.
I wanted to get a recommendation on the type of Wilbers shock to put on the rear of my bike. I don't really want the type with the remote adjuster because of fitment and the possibility of the adjustment control working loose. I was also unsure about tyre spec' but reading the posts here has helped me answer that question.

Andy,
Having done a full rebuild of mine and the two other XT600’s doing Sandraiders we would all recommend the YSS fork internals and shock. Don’t have any experience of the Wilbur’s but the YSS is great.
