did you have a closer look on my rebuild?
you allready got everyting!
the sprocketcarrier from the xt has to be maschined down so that there will be no space for a sealing anymore
an easy task. get the studs out. put helicoils in.
get some countersunk screws , a sealed bearing
drill the according countersunk in the original xt sprocket.. shorten the xt axle.
get bushes to make the axle fit to the swingarm. make a spacer for the left side. about 4 to 6 mm high.
..... and thats it....
later on i will post a picture.
cheers olli

Ok ok, i will take a closer look at the xt hub

i didn't click with your cush drive when i first looked at your build, i was new to these bikes.
Stuff it, i will make it fit one way or another.
hey fred333 can you get the measurements or pictures of the xt hub, and what year is the hub on yours?

Ok so i had some time on my hands and did some thinking and regardless of getting it ready for licence time, i want this bike perfect, the best i can make it with my imagination, the best looking tt in qld, shit getting done right once and for all....until the next time, this is how it sits after the day is over.

It's weird all the stuff i didn't replace, rebuild or renew has failed.
case in point

Also the chain guide has broken and the suspension link bearings have play in them.
Time to draw up a plan.

You will need the sprocketcarrier from a 43F, 55W, 50 T , 34L(year doesn´t matter).
The sprocketcarrier from a 1VJ.....

It is the one on the right. It has lowerattachmentpoints than the 1Vj.....
As I´m a stupid idiot I managed to buy a 1VJ and thougt is one from the 43F. (34L , 55W)
So here you see me working on the wrong sprocketcarrier:
Later .... when I found out I had the wrong part I had to do it all again...
The wheel doesn´t matter. They are all the same from the drumbrakemodels.

Thank's fred333 much appreciated, as for now a will round up all the parts i need for the rebuild, will be a lot of parts and research to get everything right even down to steering damper
So what i'm going to do is put it on hold for now and buy a xt600 for commuting and get my bike licence.
So this project will be on hold for now but when i get the xt i'm sure it will need some things done, oh crap this is never going to end is it?

Well truth be told I've never been one for adventure, never taken risks etc, and before i know it i'm 34 this year and haven't lived much so I've decided i want to explore places and go disappear for weeks on end, and so i'm starting from scratch, licence, gear, tools, everything, but i've always had a mx bike i just never thought of riding on the road..

Wish I would have known about the carrier before the last package was sent, I could have thrown one in instead of the other surprise I threw in. (you'll see when it arrives, which it should be shortly)

Like I said you sent too much $ last time .
.

Ha ha i thought i would donate to the xt 600 breeding program you got going on.
In all seriousness you have been generous and so will i.
And the carrier i have is the right one, just need to modify it like fred333 has done, i hope.
