Put some 222 loctite on the adaptors, as they tend to come loose. I also filed two flats on the alloy "adaptor" so i could tighten them up with a spanner.

Thanks for the reply, Is the 222 the soft loctite? hard to remember which one to use, how did you put flats on your mirrors? would like to be able to remove the ball in case
i break a lever housing.

222 loctite is the weakest of the thread lockers and perfect for the XT/XTZ, it is a liquid that hardens when in contact with a metal or when oxygen is no longer present. When you use it don't touch the tip against an metal, i just drop a small amount on the thread and screw it in.

Excellent! i will file flats on them and loctite them. you would think they would have done that in the first place, but i can work with it, also i will paint the bare steel as well.

A xt spring and headlight, when i convert the bike to 12v i'll retrofit this into the tt headlight cowling
much better with a h4 lighting.

And the spring is a beefy fella, 12.4mm with the digital verniers a lot thicker than the drz one i have now, will test this weekend and see how it goes, should be interesting.

Two things, the states headlights throw to the right & there is no sidelight, i have the same problem with a unit i got from Europe.

I hoping i find a testing bloke who doesn't give a shit.

Well i know in the UK you would be f*cked as they test for that, the parking light could be fixed by drilling a small 5mm hole in the lens & silicone a small LED.

Your lucky as you don't have to do an annual test (same as WA) but here over the border it has to have it yearly (how much can i screw from this bloke) test.

it looks like i'll have to fit the whole xt headlight anyway as the lens is huge compared to the tt one

Damn, I was wondering if the TT headlight was smaller and needed the framing also. The plastic surround can be gotten from a TW200 in some different colors along with white. Glad the bulb made it, those prongs sticking out the back made it hard to package without them being in the way for getting hit.

So the Aussie headlights have an extra deflector for light going out the side ? As for shooting right, I don't think these do(or not much) because all my lights in my XT's are phyisically tipped toward the right in the surround just to get the beam to the right shoulder, but I've never paid attention to where the beams go compared to the face of the bulb.

If the rest of the bracketry is needed I can get something on it way. I wonder if the triple trees are different also for the whole mount point ? Otherwise something like these mounts may work http://www.ebay.com/itm/380858944303?ss ... 1423.l2649 .

Hey xtrider, not sure what to do right now, if you don't mind could you take some pics of the xt cowling and bracketry, i got no idea how it mounts up.
Yes the package arrived safely, Thanks once again. And the spring doesn't fit my spare tt shock at all, hits the retainer the xt spring id is 61mm and the tt one is 64mmm, so i have to wait to fit it to the shock that's in the bike now, it has the retainers machined down so should fit, some things don't go so smooth and other things do.. and the drz spring on the bike now is getting soft from today's hard riding, was testing it out real well today and had to adjust the clickers right up, is just to soft, only just, so the 6.7 it is so might try 7.2kg as well as the xt one, keeps me busy this thing

I slipped that spring on my TT shocks to make sure it fit, but your shock must be a bit bigger on top of all those extra top preload grooves.
