OK id like to keep this "Power" thread happening, so much so ive made it a sticky only because i have this magical thing called plenipotentiary.

Regulars will get that joke.

So anyhow, i was watching these fella`s on the tube with a raptor engine on the Dyno (allegedly) pumping out 105 HP :eekers:

So if that`s true (itchy beard) but if it is true that motor with some encouragement should drop in any XT frame right?

I've got a write up somewhere about a Dutch bloke who raced singles, made his own engines.

A 90HP 900cc single

I'll dig out the pics of what it took to hold it all together.

105Hp out of a single, there's always THIS option ( )

Trev, the wizard of NOS, told me he reconed standard engines are safe to about 50% extra HP with nitrous providing everything was in good order, so 70-75HP on an XT engine.

This is the van der Starrer brothers 90HP at 9000rpm, 900cc single

This is how they strengthened their mahle piston from a Steyr diesel

& this is what it did to their Carillo rod 1st time under load

So they made their own rod (or had 1 made special)

However that Raptor makes its power, it must have some strong shit in its guts.

Mezo wrote:Well i understood most of it but got lost on some stuff, its certainly the bible on fuel injecting a thumper. :shades:
Richy (me old mate in Perth) has put a 780cc kit on his DR650, its got my old ported head on it & goes like the clappers.

Imagine if he FI`d that beast, its only 20cc of the biggest thumper out there the DR800 DR BIG. :nordie:

We managed to get 54hp (from memory) out of Richy`s bike when he had the old 720cc kit on there.

Mezo.
The DR800 was 780cc so Procycles 790cc kit is quite large...

I didn't even know they had gone up another 10cc Fran, Richy`s (thealien) was the last i heard at 780cc, so that would almost certainly be the biggest displacement engine on the road today, thump thump.

Imagine that with fuel injection (or is Rob doing it already?) :nordie:
