Very, very tasty. You've got me thinking. Now if I could mount my tank bag onto something like that ...

I took moulds off the tail piece, side covers, tank, front fairing and front mudguard for my 3AJ. I only ended up using the front mudguard, side covers and tailpiece on the bike. It's an easy task to take moulds off the flexible plastics. I'm not really interested in making parts but would be happy to assist anyone who wants to make their own moulds. For me the advantage is that I can apply paint, vinyls and clear coat carbon fibre on fibreglass and it won't flex and of course it doesn't fade as plastic colors do.

Composites have always seemed to me to be one of them "Dark Arts" and ive never had the balls to have a go at it, you have certainly inspired me with this.

Hi Evans, thanks for those extra photos. Like Mezo said, i haven't the balls for it either but that an excellent job there. My question is on your bike, front dash there are two little round lights, one is the neutral light and the other is red, by the looks of the photo. What's that one for ? Low oil level light?

I noticed that as well Greg, i think it was put there in case you wanted to have an oil level light, or possibly Yamaha was going to include one originally? either way it can bu utilized for that purpose & fitting a sender on the oil tank is fairly easy.

I found having one light for indicating either right or left a bit pathetic of Yamaha. I drilled out the blank and stuck in a round of colored perspex then wired in left and right indicator lights .
I've made a tidy carbon housing for the speedo rev counter which I've not fitted yet. I'm going to fit leds in it. I'll take a shot of it and post it when I get a chance.

This is the speedo rev counter cover I'm developing. I'll use larger leds in the original positions and smaller ones above the instruments. I find that with a full face helmet I don't always notice the lights in the original position.
