Can anyone explain this wacky advance curve? No where does it match the stated advance in the text above it. I programmed my Zeeltronic CDI advance curve to match the upper line. Bike is easy to start in warmer temps 1 or 2 kicks, hot start is not a problem, usually 1 kick. Cold weather is more difficult to start. I have not played with the fuel screw at the front of the primary carb. Maybe a bit more fuel will help the cold weather start...

In my opinion the wide advance curve is saying the advance can be anywhere between the lines... Pretty sloppy... Even the RZ350 with stock analog advance has a single advance curve.

Had exactly the same issue, the heat was caused by low oil - below minimum , after the bike was hot, noway charlie would it start until it cooled down. It had a new CDI and spark plug the HT lead looked ok.

The oil level was a bit of trickery in the way you need to have the engine warm to take the measure, the manual gives you the correct procedure. Made the mistake of draining the oil, filling the tank to the maximum level on dipstick and left it as is, all that oil drained out into the engine and left an almost empty oil tank.

Now the bike has the right running temperature (right oil quantity) and sprayed a serious load of WD40 over the solenoid and HT lead to take out any moisture and is kick starting hot cold without the need of a red face!
