After researching available batteries, I decided to buy two new Yuasa YB12AL-A2's for about £100. One for now and the other for the Sandraiders Rally.

I really like the Arrow silencer which cost £224 but some of the screws were lose, so I applied Loctite to prevent them from falling out.

Hopefully the stainless steel exhaust studs will make future removal of the exhaust easier.

Trying to set the sag was a saga.

Despite telling Wilburs the weight I wanted my new shock absorber set to, I needed to remove the battery holder to be able to turn the adjuster wheel nearly 30 times!

Dave Lambeth reccomended I tell Wilburs the setting in Newton Meters but the website no option :-(

The new shock absorber cost €480 with over £100 import tax.

Next job is to refit the battery holder and make sure the electrical components around that area still work OK.

There are not so much options where to rent such bikes. KTM are too expensive. My recommendation is to pay deposit in cash, then you to avoid additional charges in case of motorbike damage (as per experiences). If youre interesting I can share direct contact including recommendations.

Hi James, i am new here but it was interesting to see that the same Harry's video inspired me also to do exactly the same project like you will do. My plan is to go 2024. This summer i bought the bike (3AJ). Plan is to restore it from inside out (like Harry does with its cars and bikes). Then summer 2023 to do some test events and 2024 spring there will be Sandriders.

Hi Sulev,

Your name hints that you might be an Estonian, is that correct?

Thanks for the recommendation Jenik

Looks like the Honda 250 has 15L tank, so might get good range. I'll check them out next time :-)

One of the guys on our tour with Chris Scott dropped his BMW310 on a sandy corner, broke a few plastics and had a €200 bill :-(
