Issues with new 3rd party stator from ebay for xtz660

Good job, indeed! I have long wondered how reliable these budget stators are, please keep us posted. I don't see any reason why they would't last, but without real testing who knows. In your case (TCI ignition) is the battery charging windings only, this means thick wires carrying low volts and low amps, so I reckon you have a great chance that your stator won't fail prematurely.

There's also a similar but different variant for the old Ténéré CDI system which, alongside the charge windings, includes the two source coils for powering the ignition. These use a much thinner wire, carrying quite high AC voltage and even genuine ones were quite prone to fail from the factory itself. I'm working on a rebuild project and, because I plan on travelling to Morocco with the bike, I feel it would be best to play safe and have my unit overhauld by Kedo. However, I'm strongly tempted to try instead one of these budgets satators. They are over twice as cheap, but then they are cattered for by some reputed european retailers, which helps inspire some confidence.

Any other thoughts or experiences, please?

Kedo all the way, no way would i chance a remote journey with a Chinese stator.

Wow! That is around three Times more than what i paid from China. It was 40 eur with postage. I complained, saying it didn't fit xtz without modding and got me a 15 eur cashback.

Also I think the Danes offer the same guarantee as their chinese competition; none.

I don't drive that much. But so far it is 800 kms - and counting.
