The rear bracket that holds the rear fender in turn holds the number plate



Some fucking idiot Has cut this off also cut the seat mounts off as well so when I got the tenere it had some after market adapted rear fender on that looked totally shit,
Sorry about the French guys, it makes me mad when people start cutting away bits because they can't be bothered to find the original parts.
I'm ether looking at finding a bent frame and cut this stuff off or fabricate three pieces, my next question is doz anyone have a bent frame that I can buy, are these brackets on another model frame that I can use.

I've just bought another xt600 about a month ago and I don't believe it, the rear section has been cut and been adapted to take a totally different rear fender,,,,ARE PEOPLE INSANE,,,, for fuck sake.

Think I might have a rolling chassis and engine you can have cheap mate.....tons of bits on it as well as he frame.

Arrrrr bloody hell Geoff, thanks very much mate, I'm pleased I live so close to you, I've got the wiring harness in a bag I'll take it with me on Monday just in case I can sneak away, I must have had my blinkers on when I took this to the powder coaters, I think I was to interested in finding imperfections rather than looking for bits missing.

Got the transfers on, I was thinking I would make some lugs to weld on to the rear section to save cutting the frame, after doing some measuring it looks as if the frame is about one and a half inches short of what it should be, ive gridded some of the paint away it's been cut and then bent to take a stupid looking rear fender, I've decided the only way to sort it is to cut that section out and put another rear section in.

I got two rolling frames off Geoff so managed to salvage the rear section of one, I've got it cut and welded and painted so now takes the all important rack and and indecators, I'm looking at mounting some frame on the back to keep my wolfman soft luggage away from the exhaust

I've been look at the bike as it is, thinking if the bike would benefit from putting the side panels on for this trip, I keep thinking about this would there be any advantage to having them fitted other than stop water been tossed up from the tyres as I really like the look of the back end with out them, when I get to places that's off road and there's a lot of off road it's a lot easier to clean the rear if it gets packed with mud......

Bike is now running spot on, bike is just about finished all that's needed is the pannier racks made and fitted and the engine crash bars fabricated, them jobs will have to wait as I need to get back to work,
I've installed the spotlights with a relay and a switched live so it will not drain the battery, two sat nav cradles for a garmin 650 and a garmin BMW navigator 4 so I don't get lost,
I'll get the bike mot'ed next week and have it taxed, I may have a weekend away in Scotland camping

Ive got engine/case protector bars for a 34L im selling, i got these from Italy a couple of years ago. good spot for mounting additional lights that don't move with the steering.
