Now first stage of the tank.As the new decal set(for 55W)is still in germany I will only go on the reshaping.I drove it to "maestro Chinazzi".He is over 70 and can reshape all those tanks and rims! They look like new after he finishes.......old school disapearing.

Now when the decals are here the inside will be treated too.Not much rust but.......

Re: rebuilding a 55W in Buenos Aires
Now to the little loosen parts,as my hobby is building things in scale this whole of rebuilding is nothing new in means of separated processes of building painting and putting together.
Here the process is easier due to the scale. My favorite scale was 1/35.This 1/1 is fantastic!!!!!
I sorted all the metal parts that needed to be regalvanized(zinc).Polished them with machine and hand.I even used my dremel for the head of some.Inside is an 9.(must be the hardness)
They turned out to look better than new!!!!!(I say so to reconfort myself)
Have a look.

Now for the fork bottles they where first sandblasted with very little pressure. Then polished by hand(sandpaper 150 cut in long stripes and moving like polishing a shoe)There are areas that where not done this way on the original 85 proces. There I left the same finishing. Then clearcoated with Rust Oleum.Very hard coat!Nice end result.I will not paint with aluminum any surface except the linkage of the shock. This is cast steel paint in metal.
