Continued with the calipers today. Had to get the leftover metall out from
the caliper. This proves I centered the drilling pretty good. Had to cut it
off the tool with a Dremel though to get it loose.
And some cleaning up.

Got a tip this afternoon that someone had some TT parts they wanted to sell.
Will sort it up tomorrow. There is some goodies I can use.

Hi Yami,
nice tip you had there. ;-)
I would be interested to buy the original drumbrake frontend as mine is originally a 36A.
Please give me a note....
Cheers Oliver

Thanks Oliver, I have to think some at that offer when my plans for the bikes isn´t ready yet.
But it looks like I have them included in my plans for the moment. It can change though.
Yes I mean bikes because today number #2 arrived.
I hadn´t very high expectations about this one but I must say it turns out way below that.
A real low water bike. I had hoped getting some parts to #1 but it seemes by the first look
I can only use the tank, airfilter housing and snorkels, side stand, rear light lens
and possibly the engine or parts of it depending on how #1 turns out to be. Maybe some other
bits and pieces but the rest isnt good enough or isn´t original. It´s my own faulth when buying
from distance.
Perhaps I have to go to Kedo buying front light cover plastic and side cover plastic but
I suspect they are not original. I got a front fender yesterday but the white will probably
not match the Kedo parts. Will not paint.
Someone knowing if it should be "push and pull" throttle cables for the 83-84 TT600?
If not, maybe a minor innocent upgrade doing it or is it strictly forbidden for a
purist?
I´d better start looking for a manual for the 83-84 so I can see what parts belonging.

Ok, here is what I bought yesterday.
The little stuff. A lot will be used on the #1 bike.
Never seen swingarms in this nice condition for a XT/TT before. Will probably use the
Mono Cross one on #1 bike after a new chain protector bracket is welded back.
Some more stuff. Forgot to take a picture on the forks legs but they are from a 85-87 TT600.
Frame might not be useful and not much to fetch from what´s left on the engine in the frame.
But....there is swedish registred papers thats worth up to a £80 here. Well, that´s what
I got last time for the 43F papers.
This is maybe what´s interests most of you. A cylinder without...what´s it called, where piston goes?
Seemes to be ok everywhere else. Valves, camshafts holders and rocker cover seemes
ok too. It all comes from the engine you see in the frame.

I feel like I remember reading somewhere else on this forum that the TT cylinders don't have sleeves (the lining of the cylinder). I think it was from user XTRIDER. Here's the link to the original comment (

Ok,

info to be found in my own engine thread.
Lining of the cylinder was the words I was thinking of. So sleeve means the same. Thankyou for that info.
It feels wrong though looking at that cylinder without some lining present. My first thought seeing it was that the
piston must have jacked the lining up and they had removed it. Gonna look more

into the cylinder tomorrow
to see if there are any marks.

That cylinder is from an XT , not a TT , As Scottieh mentioned the TT's are plated , no sleeve/liner , the XT's had them. Unless of course those sold in Europe were different .
It's the only difference though.
Does that head have 34l or 34K on it ? The 6mm bolt boss at the bottom left next to the intake port, molded in up/down, plus the bottom fin
.

Correction.......
From the factory, the TT models had an aluminium cylinder liner with a 'Nicasil' coating. The rings are different from the XT because of the Nicasil.
The liner was available as a spare part (expensive) and could be pressed in and out. because of the coating, it was not able to be bored oversize.
If you seized a TT motor, it was possible to fit the iron liner and bore to STD or oversize.
Dont believe me? Check out the parts listings.

Yes it looks weird like this without a sleeve going down in Engine depertment and when I had the quick look yesterday I thought that the walls was just raw aluminum.
So what you mean ActionMan is that the cylinder can be reused with a new iron sleeve whatever it is 34K or 34L?
Is it workshop work, expensive?
