If you got stuck everybody on here's pretty helpful and will get you through most things..I think I've got a 3tb Conrod kit if gets realy messy inside, doesn't fit the early kickstart only cranks so its no good to me and I've got a spare new 3rd gear also.
Only trouble is by looking at pictures on here of teneres in Australia,we start thinking what are we doing here in the pissing rain and cold all the time..

Take the positive from a negative & think how much workshop time you get. :rtfi:

Its no fun working on a bike in a hot shed sweating your arse off & riding a bike on a scorching hot day is not much better. :hot:

Well I lived in Perth, Oz for four years and sitting in traffic in 40c heat on a bike isn't much fun!

Image
Just received the new barrel, piston and camshaft (£80). The head looks fixable but I've bought another head and cover anyway. I can always sell the other one if needed.
(The new head and cover also has a camshaft so I might even get everything for free if I can recoup my costs for the original head and cam)

I spoke to the previous owner and he confirms no gears had any issues. I was under the impression this was an issue on the 1VJ engine only?

Re. the manual, where do you download one?
Will one for a 1vj suit a 55w?
I've found a 1990 xt600e one which is 351 pages but not specific to my bike.
Thanks in advance :book:
