Mez, another alternative is the handlebar clamp, that's what I'm thinking of using, a few comments on the discussion were that people went to the bar clamp after/to avoid breaking the brake lever perch when the mirror got whacked.

The KTM style folding mirrors (and all manner of adaptors are available from Wemoto.com.
I know its an old thread (sorry for the pun) but I'm sorting out list of required bits for my newly acquired project and these mirrors are one of them (did well on my 990 Adv (sadly gone!)for 9 years)
