Best OEM parts supplier - $ and time of delivery

Post by xpag6259 »

Split the cases and found what I'd expected. A cheesy 5th, 3rd a bit ragged, counter weight a bit rough at one end. figure on replacing I'll the bearings as well whilst I'm in there. Piston and pin etc. possibly the con rod....... on and on

Have looked at Yamaha sports Plaza, Extreme Power Sports and others. Prices all seem within a dollar or 3.

I'm in Melbourne but will be in the US in 3 weeks and would like to collect the bits from my mate's place and need to be confident that they'll be there.

Who's good?

I use "Parts Shark" and "Boats.Net"

Both very good, parts shark is about 5% cheaper and very fast.
Bear in mind these bikes are on the verge of being declared "obsolete" by Yamaha (with no further parts support).
You will already see in the parts listings that a lot of parts are no longer available. So while these parts guys are great at what they do, your order is often held up waiting for one last item to come from Japan or the Yamaha warehouse.

No need to buy "Genuine" bearings at three times the price of perfectly good bearings from the bearing shop.

You really need to come and see me before you get yourself into a lather of :bullshit:
Next drinks session Friday 2nd Sept. I will PM you the address.

"Don't worry," he said, "things could be worse ........."
So I stopped worrying and lo and behold, things did get worse!
