The Swiss bikes were jetted for higher altitude (smaller jets). At sea level they would run a little lean.
I have the 3AJ & 3DS microfiche at work, so I will check out the cam part nos. on Monday.

Interesting to know the diffrences, no Swiss Alps where Geoff lives.

Yep its a swissun alright, easy to remove that light & fit a twin again just need the top part of the wiring loom (and i saw one recently on ebay).

That sticker will come off with a heatgun/hairdryer Geoff.

The fairing is different Mez, if I go for twin headlamps I'll need a new 'un.... I may leave it like that, it'll be different in the collection..

That sticker is in a state, even with a heat gun it'll come of in pieces...

That same fork brace is standard in the 3YF.

If you get a stanley blade on there with some heat it should come off in one bit? do you need it for rego Geoff?

And the bike suits twin lamps mate, did that fairing sell? (the one i sent you the link to) i dont think it looks right with the square light.

Its better if its there for the M.O.T. but I can get around it, got a couple of customers who do bike M.O.T's.... I'll get it off somehow though.

Yeah the fairing sold while I was waiting for his reply about postage, plenty of time for this one though mate.. got lots to do first..

Spent nearly 3 hours this morning trying to bleed my front brakes.... think the master cylinder is knackered , left it till Monday, thankfully I have a spare S10 cylinder.... and my mate coming to do me stickers Monday too.......

Danny popped in today & we was talking about bleeding brakes, he`d asked if i had got mine sorted as he knew id struggled with them (still soft) then he said "did your master cylinder have a bit of white plastic inside?" i said yep & then Dan went on how when he was trying to bleed his brakes he had noticed small bubbles fizzing around it & id said yep it was doing that with me.

What Danny did was pick out that plastic bit & the brakes bled through perfect (gravity style) so im going to do the same with my bike Geoff & see if makes a difference, just a thought mate.

Tip for repairing / cleaning hydraulic brake parts.

Mineral based solvents such as petrol, kerosene, paraffin, turps etc. will react with the rubber parts causing them to swell.
Wash all parts in warm soapy water, rinse in alcohol or methylated spirit and dry with compressed air.

Now you are a PRO.

The camshaft is part number 1JK-24731-00 and is the same for at least all '88 Tenere'e.
The Swiss build had a 150 main jet, the rest had 155 main. Plus other changes that I didn't have time to go into.

This gives the run down on models and engine numbers. Yes, Mezo was right there a specific build for Australia and Africa.







I have been building up a library of microfiche for these bikes and have been thinking about sending them away to be scanned into PDF's.
Cost is a problem tho........

I had said to Danny i wanted to do the exact same thing, not just Tenere`s though all the classic desert bikes from the PD era.
Ive been on the watch for a fiche reader with built in printer, but they all seem to crop up down your way.
