HI all,
My name is Dave I live in South Wales UK I used to use the old XT forum but find that it's finished now.
I have enjoyed my 2010 660 ten since 2014 I really love it with panniers and a rack it's great for touring
Good on back roads and will cruise at 80 if you want . usually 60 mpg on tours.
UP till now I,d stuck to the Michelin Siracs and found then no problem dry or torrential rain
Now I find they,re obsolete, what would you fit?
Michelin Anakee,s, Metzler Tourance,s or Pirelli Scorpions. Or other suggestions welcome.
I ride 80/20 road / trail
Thanks
Tyres again

Re: Tyres again
Hi Dave, I’m on the green green grass too, and use the m4 a lot.
The old Avon distanzias were perfect for a mix of terrain but stopped so I bought Bridgestone trailwings tw301/302 which are a bit chunkier, and tend to weave a little at “high” speeds on motorways. I think they’ve stopped too now so I was thinking of the Bridgestone battlax ax41 next. They look tidy and I’ve heard a few good things about them, but not first hand from a tenere/Xt rider yet.
Anyone out there put some miles on them yet?
The chunkier tyres are fine but open road for a distance might be a ball ache. Id love to find a close replacement for the Avon’s.

Re: Tyres again
Actually, I reckon your 660 might like the Pirelli str fitted to the 700, as it’s a more modern, capable, faster single than my old girl. They are really planted even though they don’t look like they should be. Twisty lanes at speed, and no weaving at 110. Im now wondering if they would do well for my 1vj. I’ve not green laned in them yet, just sh*tty tracks, but reports are fairly good.
