Fuel pump is today's victim. Originally covered in dust and grease. Chucked the whole thing in the ultrasonic cleaner, then couldn't help myself and pulled it apart. Pic below if you've ever wondered what's in it: two one way valves and a diaphram.
I nickel plated all the bits, including the spigot that goes to the inlet manifold. Bit tricky cleaning and plating such small bits, especially as the screws had captive spring washers. Pressed out and back in the spigot to the inlet manifold.
Nothing appeared to need replacing which is lucky as I couldn't find anything approaching a rebuild kit on t'internet.

True & there is one for sale in the USA for US$50.00 + US$15.00 shipping, but its still a 30 year old (NOS) membrane, the link i shared is for the same thing (brand new) & its only £24.00 in the UK (where Baz is located).

Here is my lovely Renthal ally handlebar. It has a nice feel and is very light. I want to keep it, but it's anodised blue and the new colour scheme will be white/red.
Options:
Strip the blue and leave it bare, protect it with some polish or summat and worry about it later
Paint the middle section (taking care not to paint the throttle part) with black engine enamel
Anodise at home - likely to be painful as it's a long part and anodising needs temp control and boiling to seal the dye
Send out to be anodised - ugh, have called around and could buy a new handlebar for the cost...
Needless to say I am leaning towards 1 or 2, probably 2.
Commercial re-anodise is properly expensive, like you said it's cheaper to buy new if you can get hold of it.
If you rub it down with wet and dry you'll get back to original silver.
What about powder coat? I had some red anodised bars powder coated black they look spot on.
Or just buy some new Renthals, I find that anything you touch on a bike needs to be spot on for the bike to look right, grips, bars, seat, foot pegs etc.

I am soon to send my battery box and front subframe off for powdercoating so that's an option... but won't the extra thickness interfere with the throttle action? The throttle tube thingo runs directly on the bar. S'pose I could always knock it down a bit with some sandpaper if it's a problem...
