I thought this might be useful to you guys with a common engine.
I got round to removing the` hidden` filter on my MZ 660 Mastiff this morning, i couldn`t believe how much rubbish was behind it!
I`ve had inline filters at times and actually took them off thinking they were the problem to apparent fuel starvation.
This is about 20,000 miles of accumulated crap in the photo, most of which appeared to be fine fibres.
I think the biggest obstacle to accessing the filter is the float pivot pin removal, which comes out in the OPPOSITE direction of the arrow on the support pillar. I applied heat with a small flame, some penetrating oil, and knocked it out with a pin and hammer.
