Post by cadno »

hi anybody know if a XT600 e engine will fit into a 1VJ/3AJ frame?
I know the earlier kick start only engines won't fit

seen it in use regularly so yes! I think Bob said a change in swinging are spacers and obviously clutch cable was about the main of it. Have that job to do myself so a detailed photoshoot would be great!

Just read through Geoffs rebuilds, im sure he has put a 3TB in both his 1VJ & another of his 3AJ`s.

Just remember you will need the wiring loom/ign switch etc & also remember a 3TB is TCI not CDI so you will need that also.

As NASA are famous for saying.....
'Given sufficient time and money, we can do anything!' :star:

'e' engine will not easily fit into the 1VJ, but it will be more easy to put in 3AJ.
"Don't worry," he said, "things could be worse ........."
So I stopped worrying and lo and behold, things did get worse!

I've bought the motor now, it's from a 1992 so let the fun commence.
Picking it up tomorrow so I'll try and get the electrics TCI etc. If it's a nightmare I can always move it on

I have the stator, flywheel and electrical gubbins from the original 1VJ motor.
Simple question, can these parts replace the 3TB stator and flywheel letting me use the original wiring, stator and CDI?

The flywheel should mount to the crank since the 3tb crank is what i am using on my own 1vj/3aj hybrid.

I suppose the next question is whether the stator and pickups will mount inside the case cover and if the wires will route correctly outside the case.

I was thinking the same, wiring was a right mess from memory?
