Hi,
the engine case halves are paired, there is only a very slight chance the engine will run sweet, even if (which I do not know) the halves WOULD technically fit.
The halves are put together for machining, for a very good reason: you can not guarantee everything fits well if you bore them separately.
I would sell the 2KF block and look for a 1VJ or 3AJ block to replace it really.

I'm pretty sure I read a post from actionman that you can not retro fit electric start to kick start, only kick start to electric.

That said, reading it again, if you are willing to take a chance on the case halves being unmatched, it sounds like you have all the components to carry it out, BUT, I thought the earlier motors (kick only) were narrower in the frame mount (rear) so you want to check that it would still fit.

Re: crank case problems for
There are so many traps involved in these kind of projects.
We have no answer to your question because no one has ever attempted it before.
The main issue is 'wide case' versus 'narrow case'. Early engines, non-electric start were narrow case. The main identifier of the change was the output sprocket.
The splines changes from coarse to fine, and the shafts in the transmission were lengthened and the alternator changed, along with many other small dteails.
What you are proposing is to put a narrow right case with a wide left case. Can it be done? I don't know, but I am sure some grief awaits you.
I would be trying to get the 3AJ engine number made legitimate. Can you contact the registration authority for some kind of history for the bike.
Maybe sign a declaration that you are the owner?

"Don't worry," he said, "things could be worse ........."
So I stopped worrying and lo and behold, things did get worse!

Re: crank case problems for
IF the 2 case halves were machined close enough to work with each other. IIRC the e start tranny will work with the kicker right case , the extra length is in the left side so as long as all internals from the e-start are used it very well may work . But ........ I'm getting old and senile , so there's that issue.
