Hard to tell from the Picture, need a Close up but the swinger looks as a 43F in my Eyes.
That would explain it´s not the 34L chain adjustment mechanism?
But nice looking bike you´ve got there. :thumb:

After some digging I'm sure it's a 34L.. Notwithstanding the frame and engine numbers, the tank graphics are the earlier model. 55W leant backwards as I understand. Glad you reminded about chain tensioners..these chain and sprockets are in need of replacement. :thumb:

43F isn't a tenere code is it? Plain ol' XT600 code, that.

Anyways, back to my original question.. anything I haven't mentioned that I should look out for?

I have not heard of any horror stories ref the oil cooler (slightly odd place to put it though), and the gears can wear, yes, on the 34L, 55W, 1VJ and 3 AJ, but with your mileage you should be fine for a while at least, there is a theory that it's more to do with riding style than a mechanical fault anyways.

The first year 83 had snail adjustment on the inside, the 84 had them outside (as did the euro 50T) See here.

A Reg is 83/84
B Reg is 84/85
C Reg is 85/86

So im calling its a 1984 34L

Defintely 34L.. just late registered. Thanks for all your help gents.

One last question regarding photobucket... You see the codes above my photos on this stream? If you click one and nav to the picture are you able to scroll through the rest of my pics on photobucket or just the bike one? I can see all the rest but I'm wondering if that's just cos it's my account?

Thanks again,

Nick

I can see 76 pics in your bucket, i make folders & then make public or private, remember if you now go & make a folder "Tenere Pics" and then move your pics to that folder it will break the link to here, not a biggie just edit your post.

Go back to your picture post and click edit. You will see I have fixed the image refs so that the pic comes up but the URL does not. That's so other users can't scroll through to the naughty pics of you and your missus. :bouncing-boobs:
