Finally I have come to a decision. Looking for that Acerbis tank for so long time,
seeing one pop up on Ebay with starting bid £100 and auction should last for 10 days.
I had a look when it was 5 days left and it was gone...
Either he changed his mind or someone gave him an offer he couldn´t refuse.

Well, well, who da hell want a plastic tank. They brake easily if the bike
fall down and the tank got hit. I´m going steel. It will be enormous.

Xtz750 with the bottom cut out?

It´s from a XTZ750 with the bottom cut out. I was supposed to build up Another bottom for my aborted XT900Z Project.
But now it will be usefull again. It wont be that big,30 liters is to much and I will be satisfied with 20-25. I will have use
of the tanksides going forward the forks. Can build up a stationary frontpanel easier then.

Today I had some time for the project. The most critical was to see if the
airfilter housing was fitting between the subframes legs. It did.





So, cut the non important stuff off the subframe and grind the leftovers down.

How does it look with the seat and rear fairings?
It is still a bit high seat height. My calculation is around 88 cm .
Have to see what I can do with the rubbers going from carb to airbox. That´s the thing that
prevents me to get the height down. Wanted around 85.

I see with your side profile , the carbs are slanted upward going toward the airbox , I believe they should be more even , my hybrid motor has that issue and needs a custom intake adapter to level them out(if I don't do the efi), it keeps flooding the motor out with the tipped carbs , unless float height is so low that it starves of fuel elseware.
Is the motor sitting tilted forward or am I just seeing things ? The Raptor carbs will need to be level at the float bowl surface which will put those airbox boots down another 15-20mm at least at the seat.

Yes engine and carbs is a bit tilted, isn´t they all? I havent changed any engine mounts
and have about the same heights on forks and swinger as original setup.

So you mean I can get trouble with the Raptor carbs if the carbs is tilted?
What about running downhill or uphill, then they gets tilted when running, does it flood then too?

Well I am looking for a solution where the rubber is lowered 20 mm so I can get the subframe
down a bit. They are in the way for that now.

I'll have to dig into how much tilt they can have , I'm 90% sure the bowl to carb surface is basically level on the 660's at least as mounted in the quad. They can take some tilting obviously just limited for normal riding as it'll effect jetting , too much and you'll have to have the fuel level lower in the bowl and then have issues possibly with air being sucked in as the fuel sloshes around . I may be able to mile the front snout on the carbs tilted some so they'll sit down toward the rear , that'll drop your airboots down then and keep the carbs level. I have to mill them a bit smaller anyways so they fit better in the XT boots without so much modding to the boots themselves.

That looks a lot as the inlet rubbers is angled. Engine is tilted but the carbs is not.
Or is the carbs some angled?
