Hi Guys- busy with other less important things and our Pete J needs some info here- Geoff- you seem to be the one rebuilding Teneres blindfolded nowadays

just to double check on buying the correct part.
A Little help please. On later type starter, 3TB on, looking for the number of teeth on big starter gear please.

Not quite correct place but also needing this Yamaha discontinued part--2KF -25850 -50 as the butchered might not be worth repairing

I've posted some comparison pics on here somewhere..... the 3TB starter clutch, etc will definitely not fit a 3AJ

If you open the link below the question will be understood. I asked just to be absolutely sure. XTJoe's 3AJ starter gear has 80 teeth. The EBay seller quotes 80 teeth.

So, thank you xtrider for taking the trouble to answer the question. (We deal in certainties...with some help from our friends)

So it seems there is a source of new starter bits for early e start XT600s. Also, the 2 needle bearings are listed in INA catalog; 30x37x16. If the cages are good, loose needles are also listed by INA as 3.5x 11.8 mm. You will need 17 each for the 2 bearings.

paid and it was promptly delivered at my doorstop 7 days later. I delivered to Spannerman who replied back two days later with sweet starting xt. Now we start the strip show

Any one know how many teeth there are on starter gear or has a engine open to count on a 3AJ

Bought one from ebay supplier and it works well for my 3AJ-- now a mate has the same problem and want to order from same supplier- problem is he counts 79 teeth(tripple checked) on his 3AJ- supplier spec shows 80 teeth. We have trolled up and down trying to see numbers through here but cannot see qty. Will it work or not as its a pretty bunch of our SA rands. I really dont wish to open mine to count

My engine/frame number is 3AJ004745 and his is much later with the zero's after the 3AJ being numbers
