Just as well as paint cracks when compressed, i found this out the hard way.

I had thought about it for a while in relation to the cost but this powder coating cost 25 euro (!!) and is much better than painting, especially for springs.

"25 EURO'S !!!!" just for the spring? bloody hell, I'd be totally skint paying them prices.....

Problem with the seat cover is solved .... it just takes a lot of time
Also painted the muffler and a lot of black parts.

Well both bikes Yamaha colour is "Faraway Blue" & it was used on many Yamaha bikes from that era,
and the equivalent colour today is RAL 5005 "Signal Blue" pantone number 294.

So the color I used is RAL 5005

So next step, building-up the engine.

Q: How do I adjust/set the timing right ... marks ... where ... how?

The ignition timing is fixed mechanically, but varies inside the CDI control box. As long as you assemble the flywheel/magnetic rotor with the key/keyway you cannot make a mistake. Also remember the spark fires EVERY revolution, no need for a distributor or to determine TDC compression or TDC exhaust.

The camshaft is equally simple. One dot on crank gear pointing to > on the casting, one dot on the cam level with the machined surface of the head.

Couldn't find it but I do have a Workshop Manual.
Problem is that I can not find the "static" timing settings.

So I set the crankshaft timing marks:



and then which flywheel mark should I see in the timing inspection hole

Maybe somebody can set his piston at TDC, look through the "timing hole" and tell me which mark he sees
