Should I see the back wheel when I remove seat?

Took the seat off for the first time today, should I see the back wheel when I remove seat? should there be something between the rear panel and the front bit, mud, crud etc is hiting the base of the seat, seems to be ok but I think there should be some kind of inner lower mud guard. I have looked on part diagrams but can't see anything.

It's normal on a 34l....if I was going to check one thing on an early one..it would be to just pop the clutch cover off and check the blanking plug in the end of gearbox output shaft isn't loose,fallen out or laying in the bottom of the engine laughing at you...I may have mentioned it before but can't remember as my brains not very big..I usualy just about remember where I live..

I'm pretty crap at looking at a buy, look at it, sit on it, start it, ride it, yes I'll take it. I didn't even check inside the tank for rust. useless.
