Well I thought I would have a look at the wiring. I do have two looms, but I wish to modify the wiring a little. The 550 comes with a neat feature, if you want to go and play in the dirt you can quickly disconnect the headlight and blinkers from the bike and the electrics unplug here Maaate.
This is my other XT, on the one I am doing up now I wish to put a acerbis headlight, so I no longer need this feature. So I thought I would keep the goodish loom as a last resort just incase I make a major mistake.
The loom has been botched by the previous owner ( no it fuckin wasn't me mezo) these connections will be cut off anyway.
After a couple of hours debating where everything went I decided to put the loom on the bike and connect up the pieces I know and go from there, i don't want to cut too much off!
This is the connector that is going to go ( someone stop me if they know better)
So I am going to pull back the sheathing, and with my Rabbi skills cut it off!
And these where the exposed wires,
Some of the wires had packing tape as insulation, I know I am a cheap barsteward but even I would use electricians tape!
Once all the sheathing was removed I had to chase the wires that I would cut out.
Its a good job I removed the sheathing as I found this little brown wire doing nothing, the lazy
