Wow that tank is looking fabulous, id hat to think how much that`s costing.
Keep the templates Mark, scan them for future reference in case anyone else fancied having a go.

Re: Tommy's Sonauto replica
How about this Mark, its a replica by a couple of Italian guys who call themselves Dune Motor.

They are working on a Serge Bacou replica at the moment.

Re: Tommy's Sonauto replica
Its been soooooooooo long now , nearly 2 years having the tank made .
Anyway here are a few pictures of the tank taken a few months back which i am told has moved an some more.

Im on the task of sorting the headlamp decal this week but i think it will be next year before the bikes done.
Oh i havnt been sat down doing nothing , these were my last few restos.

And this is the latest.

I still have the 1VJ and do have 2 nos side panels and a front headlamp cowl so parts still acumilating for a resto one year.

Re: Tommy's Sonauto replica
It has been a long time since i started this topic but after a few years and a 2 hour drive i have the bike and tank back in my garage,
everything is all down to me now to get started, tanks certainly impressive and huuuuge compared to other XT and TT tanks.
I have acumilated parts and have a good idea what i need to do after restoring a few TT's.
Cap thread is a XT600 fine thread rather than a TT course thread type, there are also internal baffle to stop the fuel sloshing about
altering the halndling when riding and twin fuel taps. Decals maybe a problem so any ideas are always welcome, maybe Bobster can help.

It will be a while before its done but im going to enjoy this one and its better than building a cafe racer.
